On 4 March 2026, a dedicated season of fasting and prayer will begin in preparation for the Local Government Elections taking place in November 2026.
The focus during this period will be to pray for righteous and capable leadership within local government structures. Many cities are facing a leadership crisis, where ineffective governance has contributed to instability and disorder. This is a critical moment to seek God’s intervention for municipalities across South Africa.
Fasting will take place every Wednesday, guided by Isaiah 58:6–8 as the foundational Scripture:
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen… to loose the chains of injustice… to set the oppressed free… then your light will break forth like the dawn…”
This season is entered with faith and expectation:
- Expectant for God to move powerfully in cities
- Expectant for a shift in the spiritual atmosphere
- Expectant for godly and competent leaders to be elected
- Expectant for a new order of governance to be established
Each week, specific prayer points will be shared for intercessors to stand in agreement and pray together.
