Why are we fasting?
Our nation is in a crisis, God spoke clearly to Janet Hollis to call this fast, after concurring with other prophets in the land. God showed them two main issues to fast for which are as follows:

Dear South African citizen
We urge everyone of you to participate in the government prayer watch. This prayer initiative has been launched to undergird and support our government through these difficult times. As we all know the future of our nation is at stake, God has a mandate for SA, and unless the church takes its place in the Spirit and legislates from the Spirit, we will not witness a change in our nation.

In his very first state of the nation address, Pres Ramaphosa cited lyrics of a song of Hugh Masekela, namely Tuma Mina. If translated it means: I want to lend a hand – send me.
Let us pray that the government will adhere to this call and truly serve the people of South Africa.

The Presidents focus is torn between the people of S.A. and Zuma faction of the ANC. The zuma faction headed by Ace Magashule has publiclally challenged the President on many issues. Considering the corruption scandles that Ace Magashule has been involved in, he is launching a direct threat against the presidency so as to deflect attention from his own revelations and thus pending prosecutions.
