National Prayer Strategy: Day 6

Days 6: 13 December

Hebrews 10:38 and 39 “But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live by his conviction, respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him. But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery (perdition) and are utterly destroyed, but we are of those who believe [who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by faith preserve the soul”.

We need to realise that God sees fear as the fruit of us believing a lie. There is no favor from the Lord for us in such a situation. This fruit of fear in return feeds the lie that brought it about so that it continues to grow into a shrub or even a tree or a forest that separates us from God. When we constantly rehearse these fearful lies and persist to worry and with the development of the negative expectation that God won’t come through, we also constantly agree with these lies, we loose our footing on the solid rock of Christ and fall back into the abyss of unbelief – therefore, God being a just God gives us what we ponder continuously and we therefore receive what we fear in our hearts.

This is also so, because the spiritual sound emanating from us is one that calls for our fears to emerge and realize. When Jesus died and rose from His death on the Cross, He paid the full price for us to be redeemed from fear, giving us wisdom when we require it, forgiveness as we need it and a fresh portion of faith and mercy that we can lay claim to daily. We remember that this journey takes place systematically and not instantaneously. He has given us sufficient Grace to cover our as we walk with the true Lord Jesus, our Messiah.

It is time to see the Truth about fear, namely that fear and double-mindedness opens a door to the enemy and separates us from our loving, but wise and just Father. Let us repent from fear, double-mindedness and all forms of unbelief and return to our Father Who is waiting for us with open arms.

Dear Heavenly Father, I confess and repent on behalf of myself and my bloodlines that I come from a generation who has believed various lies about You and how You see us. I ask forgiveness for every time when I wavered, doubted You and drew back, instead of trusting You with a singular focus. Forgive me for making room for fear in my mind and for all forms of mistrust that I hold toward You.

I repent for growing and cultivating worry and stressful thoughts and for investing my time in strengthening strongholds in my mind, instead of learning to lean into Your Holy Spirit of Truth and cultivating my most precious Faith that is like pure gold in Your eyes.

I lay down my own generational fear and unbelief and ask that Your Holy Spirit will place me in a season of being taught by You. I break all generational agreements with every lie of fear, unbelief and double-mindedness and ask that You will purify my DNA and grow me into a person of faith who is able to speak Your words of faith over South Africa and expect to see You fulfill them.
In Jesus’s Name I pray, Amen.
