7 NOVEMBER FAST: PRAYER INITIATIVE (2018)

1. CITIES
God created the city to be a place of life and well being.  Our cities have become strongholds for the enemy to carry out his destructive works.  The spiritual climate in our city determines how the life and governance of the city functions.  Scripture tell us that wherever our feet tread, God has given us that ground.  Lets ask God to give us individually a vision for reclaiming our cities, for righteousness and well being, for prosperity and health.

 2 Corinthians 10:4, Proverbs 11:11

2. CORRUPTION
Every citizen of this nation is affected by the scourge of corruption.  Poverty, greed, anger, comparisons, rejection, the spirit of the orphan are all a fruit of the curse of corruption.  God is exposing the corrupt practices, the corrupt politicians and those who have instituted these corrupt administrative processes and systems.  Let us pray that they continue to be exposed and that judgement/recompense would prevail thought the systems of law in our country.
 John 3:20, Proverbs 12:7-8

3. 2019 ELECTIONS
We lift South Africa up in this next season of elections.  We want to pray that the Government that God has elected would be put in place.  Scripture tells us that RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE are the foundation of His throne.   May we vote and pray His Kingdom come, His will be done for our new government to be elected.  This new government must have the will of the people and be one that is trustworthy and worthy of honour and respect of its citizens.
Daniel 11:17, Deuteronomy  1:13

4. LEADERS OF HIS CHOOSING
For society to prosper and for a nation to fulfil the mandate it has been given by God, it needs men of skill and wisdom.  Joseph and Daniel were such men chosen as prophets, administrators, prime ministers etc.  May we continue to pray that men and woman whom God has chosen would be elected to parliament for this next season.  Men who have moral value and prize ethics above self gratification.  Men and woman who have a heart for South Africa.
Exodus 36:1-3, Psalm 92:7

8 AUGUST FAST: PRAYER INITIATIVE (2018)

Global economies need to be rightly aligned with our nation so as to prosper South Africa and its people. Pray for divine strategies for our leaders in controlling this economy!

4 JULY FAST: PRAYER INITIATIVE (2018)

PRAYER POINTS:

We are fast approaching July 4th, which is the day we set time aside to pray for our nation. This is one day where we can all be in unity and agreement for our nation. Below are some scriptures that one can pray and please adapt these scriptures to your relevant towns and cities. It is as we deal with corruption on a local level within our cities that God is then able to escalate the justice to a national level.

Scriptures to pray: Isaiah 56:1, 59:14-18, Zach 8:16

Shall he who HATES JUSTICE RULE?

Many scriptures tell us that there is a lack of a cry for JUSTICE. Today as the church, we have the power to rise up and call for Justice to be released from God’s throne. Justice against inequality, justice against those who have corrupted this nation, justice in civil society, and even personal justice. The spirit in which we cry for justice is one of love, and not of retaliation and hatred. As we do this, God will move in such way in every sector of our lives, our nation and the church, and we will receive an open heaven of Justice.

Ecclesiastes 3:17 tells us that God will JUDGE the wicked, as there is a time for every purpose under heaven. Let us call for his JUSTICE, as justice brings judgement.

Thank you for being part of this fasting and prayer day, as we witness His Kingdom come in our cities and our nation.

6 JUNE FAST: PRAYER INITIATIVE (2018)

 1. THE LAND QUESTION!

God is wanting to solve the land issue. It is a completely UNJUST and UNGODLY system whereby all land is owned and administrated by TRIBAL CHIEFS within our African context. Millions are working and living on the land, with NO OWNERSHIP. This is not pleasing to GOD!

Through individual ownership of land, many benefits have been derived.   The present day struggles of land ownership are not In the days after Solomon, especially, the land of Canaan becomes the focus of an ongoing struggle between the forces of greed, land grabbing, and exploitation. As such it became one of the constant issues mentioned by the prophets as they warned against “add house to house and joining field to field” (Isa. 5:8)7 God condemns other forms of abuse, such as:

tearing the land away from those who were weak, poor, or disadvantaged in their rights.

 2. CITY TRANSFORMATION

We are using the NEHEMIAH principle to pray earnestly for our cities. Jerusalem had gone into captivity, its people were in bondage and there was no sign of deliverance. Jerusalem’s gates were burned with fire…

God raises up NEHEMIAH, we notice so clearly that Nehemiah had three characteristics and key ingredients needed for city transformation! These three keys are found in:

Nehemiah 1:3-4

  1. weeping
  2. mourned
  3. fasted

We may ask ourselves the question: WHERE ARE THE NEHEMIAH’S of this day? Nehemiah called the intercessors, those with the BURDEN to PRAY and PETITION, moving within the COURTS OF HEAVEN, for the restoration of the CITY!!!!!

3. RACISM

As a result of God’s healing work in our lives, we are then able to appreciate our brothers through the eyes of Jesus. Knowing that God has created us in HIS IMAGE, gives us a clear mandate on how to live peacefully with all men. God is love and when we love one another we are responding to one another in a different spirit, God’s spirit. May God grant us the UNDERSTANDING of the various ways we can love one another. Let us release and pray 1 Corinthians ch. 13 over this nation, trusting for God to change the people’s hearts toward each other.

4.  JUDICIARY

Righteousness, truth and justice are three FOUNDATION of God’s throne. We should be weeping because justice has failed us. God has raised a judiciary in this nation that need our

  1. PROTECTION on our CHIEF JUSTICE….
  2. Cancelling and PETITIONING against all assignments on the judiciary
  3. A strong JUDICIAL BODY in SA, men of wisdom, honour, representing the Kingdom of God.

4 APRIL FAST: PRAYER INITIATIVE (2018)

 THE VISION
The purpose behind this initiative is to raise the church in the city with a burden and an awareness to pray for the most pressing issues in our nation at present.  God spoke to Janet very clearly saying:  the politicians are preparing for the 2019 elections and what is the Church’s involvement at this time.  The politicians are ruling on the land, but what is God saying?  What is the Role of God and the church in your city?  Do you have a burden for your city?

Sa back to God is helping to mobilise the church by providing prayer points on all 3 aspects of what we will be praying for.  This initiative will be release detailed and concurrent prayer points, together with fasting motivations.

PRAYER POINTS

THE LAND DEBATE

It was at creation that God the Creator committed the world and its resources to humanity (Gen. 1:28–29). It was because the man and the woman were made in the image of God that they were commanded to subdue the created order and to exercise dominion over the whole of it.

However, in an ultimate sense, in Israel all property belonged to the Lord, as Leviticus 25:23 (NIV, 1984) made clear: “the land is mine and you are but aliens and my tenants.” Because Yahweh is the one and only Lord and ultimate king over Israel, he was also Lord of the soil and its products.

“You shall not steal” (Ex. 20:15), which provided for property rights as well. With this command, not only was the principle of individual ownership recognised…

PRAY FOR:

  1. Wisdom and Godly order in process of releasing the land
  2. Proper understanding of STEWARDSHIP in land ownership

  • and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,

2019 ELECTIONS

The Christian worldview provides a comprehensive understanding of reality. It speaks to all areas of life, including political engagement. In fact, the Bible speaks about civil government and provides examples of faithful engagement.

  • In the Old Testament, Joseph and Daniel served in civil government, exerting influence to further the flourishing of their nations.
  • In the New Testament, Jesus engaged in holistic ministry, caring for the spiritual and physical needs of people. Feeding the hungry and healing diseases were an outworking and extension of the reconciliatory message of the gospel.
  • Engaging in “good works” should include participating in the political process because of the legitimate and significant role of government. The decisions made by government have a substantial impact on people and the way we interact with them. A Christian worldview should include a political theology that recognizes every area of life must be included in the “good works” of believers, especially politics, an area with significant real-life implications for people.

  4. The legitimate institution of government whereby Christians can reassert their influence, thereby redeeming government to promote good and restrain evil.
  5. The date for the elections to be brought forward…. The prophets have seen this in the Spirit, we need to execute this in the spirit.

SCRIPTURES TO PRAY:

  • Deut 1:13 – men of wisdom and understanding to be chosen
  • Isaiah 9:6 – the government is apoun His shoulders…
  • Nehemiah 4:14 – And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles and to the rulers and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

CITY REFORMATION

What is the significance of a city gate in the Bible?

Besides being part of a city’s protection against invaders, city gates were places of central activity in biblical times. It was at the city gates that important business transactions were made, court was convened, and public announcements were heralded.  In our modern day cities, the gates function as the government of the city!

Cities were ordained by God to be places whereby the inhabitants of the city could find peace, prosperity and establishment of family structures etc.
